More About Horizon

Horizon was founded as an Ahwatukee church in 1990.  First meeting in a store front and later in two schools, Horizon Presbyterian Church was chartered in 1992.  Horizon's campus was opened in 1996, and the church school building was added in 1998.  The campus includes land for a dedicated worship center to be built in the coming years.
Horizon prepares Christians to be disciples of Jesus Christ.  God has touched the lives of hundreds of families through the Horizon community that includes God’s Garden Preschool and Child Development Center.  When we celebrated the 25th anniversary of Horizon Presbyterian Church in March 2017, we noted that over the years this Ahwatukee church has had more than 650 members and served hundreds of children through God’s Garden.
Horizon keeps changing.  Children have been born and raised in the Horizon community, and many are now young adults with families of their own.  Adults have grown closer to Jesus Christ through Horizon and have ministered to the sick, the elderly, and people in need in the local area and neighboring countries.
Members of the Horizon community have moved to other states and countries as God has opened up new opportunities.  These disciples of Jesus Christ are now connected to new communities across the United States and around the world where the Good News and message of salvation are needed just as much as in the Ahwatukee Foothills of Phoenix.

We look forward to God’s plan for Horizon and continuing to make disciples of Jesus Christ.  The Horizon community has a Vision Statement that captures what we seek to become:

Horizon is a vibrant, worshipping, faith community…where people are
coming to Christ, growing in Christ and ministering for Christ.

There is a place for you at Horizon.  Come join us and help us fulfill the vision for Horizon Presbyterian Church.
