Food Donations at Horizon: Horizon has established relationships with local Christian charities, to whom we forward donations received here at the church on a regular basis. The designated collection box can be found in the Worship Center. Items needed are: peanut butter, tuna, rice, pasta, beans, cereal or other non-perishable food items. If you have any questions or would like to help transport the food to the charities, please contact any Deacon. Thank you for helping us to be a blessing to those around us.
Matthew's Crossing: Some of our food donations, received in the designated collection box, go to Matthew's Crossing Food Bank in Chandler which distributes to more than 3,000 individuals and families. Matthews Crossing serves all the East Valley. Items that are especially needed include rice, beans, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, canned fish and peanut butter.
Feed My Starving Children: a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world. The Phoenix Rescue Mission (PRM) collects bottled water to distribute to the homeless during the hot summer months. Horizon has contributed between 60 and 100 cases of water each of the past several years. During a collection drive, members donate a case or two (or three or more) and put them in the Hub to create a Wall of Water for PRM. Each case normally costs you about $3, and bottled water if often on sale for less at local groceries. The water drive is done at least twice a year. Thanks for supporting this mission opportunity with PRM!
Thanks for your care and generosity! Please contact our Mission Elder for more about these opportunities.
